Sydney’s climate is hard on roofs. Intense UV cracks coatings, summer storms lift tiles, and salt-laden winds corrode metal sheets. These are the six issues we see most often.
Usually caused by people stepping on the roof the wrong way, hail or thermal stress. One broken tile is enough to let water into your sarking and start a slow ceiling leak.
The leak is rarely directly above the stain, because water runs along beams and sarking first. A proper inspection traces it to the source, so the leaking roof repair fixes the cause.
A roofline that dips means structural damage to rafters or battens, often from long-term moisture or termites. It needs attention before it damages ceilings and walls.
Shaded parts of the roof grow green or black patches. It holds moisture against the surface, lifts ridge caps and wears out the coating faster.
